Role Overview:
BA Sciences is seeking a Director of Business Development who is responsible for generating substantial new business while nurturing and expanding existing client relationships in the Mid-Atlantic region. This senior-level role involves full-cycle sales management, strategic account growth, and collaboration across teams to meet revenue goals in the life sciences and pharmaceutical outsourcing space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies for client acquisition and revenue growth.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
- Maintain and expand existing accounts through up-selling and cross-selling.
- Deliver company presentations and negotiate service contracts.
- Collaborate with project management, marketing, and leadership teams.
- Maintain accurate CRM records (Salesforce) and report market insights.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and professional networking functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
- 7+ years of sales experience in life sciences/pharma outsourcing, or 5+ years at BA Sciences.
- Proven success acquiring new clients and managing large accounts ($2M+ annual revenue).
- Previous lab experience in analytical or microbiology testing is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant testing methods and regulatory standards (USP, HPLC/GC, cGMP, etc.).
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Based in the Mid-Atlantic; must be willing to travel within the U.S.
