Summary:
Takara Bio USA is hiring a remote-based Account Manager II to manage and grow strategic customer accounts in the South San Francisco territory, focusing on pharma and biotech clients. This role drives revenue through long-term relationship development, consultative selling, and strategic account management across Takara's molecular and cell biology product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Grow relationships through upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new opportunities.
- Communicate complex scientific concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Use CRM (e.g., Salesforce) to manage pipeline, track activities, and develop account plans.
- Analyze sales data to adjust tactics and prioritize impactful activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance customer messaging and service.
- Mentor new account managers and share best practices.
Qualifications:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related life science field.
- 2–4 years of sales/account management experience in life science tools industry.
- 2–4 years of hands-on lab experience in molecular or cell biology.
- Proven success managing complex sales cycles and meeting sales targets.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Must reside near the South San Francisco territory and be willing to travel ~50%, including overnight.
