Position Summary:
Tempus is seeking a Business Development Director to lead and scale the Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) sales strategy within its oncology division. This role focuses on driving adoption of MRD products, supporting sales representatives (M-CAEs), and positioning Tempus as a market leader in MRD testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a nationwide MRD sales strategy.
- Collaborate with oncology sales leaders to shape sales behaviors and execution.
- Manage business planning, strategic collaborations, and high-priority customer relationships.
- Support hiring, training, and development of MRD Clinical Account Executives (M-CAEs).
- Utilize data and CRM tools (Salesforce) to drive sales performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, ops) to align on strategy and support field initiatives.
- Represent Tempus at the executive level with healthcare institutions and decision-makers.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years in diagnostics, pharma, or biotech sales leadership.
- Deep knowledge of molecular diagnostics, oncology, and complex selling environments.
- Proven ability to recruit, lead, and develop high-performing sales teams.
- Experience with academic centers, health systems, and payer/reimbursement environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- Willingness to travel ~50%.
Salary Range:
$165,000 – $220,000
