Summary:
Foundation Medicine is seeking an Account Executive II - a field-based sales role responsible for driving sales of Foundation Medicine’s cancer diagnostic products and services. This includes managing relationships with oncologists, pathologists, and healthcare decision-makers in a defined territory, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to overall account growth and customer retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve/exceed sales targets for FMI’s product portfolio.
- Develop and execute strategic business and account plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., oncologists, c-suite, pathologists).
- Analyze market and customer data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Educate customers on reimbursement and billing practices.
- Present and negotiate tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
- Integrate market, competitor, and customer insights into account strategy.
- Travel extensively within the territory (up to 90%).
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of sales experience in diagnostics or life sciences, or clinical experience in a similar setting.
- Proven sales success and territory management.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
Preferred:
- 8+ years of sales experience in life sciences, especially oncology or molecular diagnostics.
- CRM (Salesforce) and data analysis tool proficiency.
- Experience selling to oncologists, urologists, and pathologists.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
