Job Summary
Foundation Medicine is seeking an Account Executive II (AE II) - a field-based sales role responsible for driving adoption and sales of FMI’s diagnostic products and services within a specific geographic territory. The AE II builds and manages relationships with oncologists, hospitals, and other healthcare stakeholders to grow business, retain clients, and identify new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed sales quotas for FMI's product portfolio.
- Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., oncologists, pathologists, c-suite).
- Drive business through data analysis, customer insights, and competitive intelligence.
- Present and negotiate FMI’s offerings tailored to customer needs.
- Educate on reimbursement and billing practices.
- Coordinate with national and federal account strategies.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM documentation (Salesforce).
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of sales experience in diagnostics or life sciences, or equivalent clinical setting experience.
- Proven track record of sales success.
- Willingness to travel up to 90%.
Preferred:
- 8+ years in diagnostics/life sciences sales.
- Oncology/molecular diagnostics experience.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and data tools (Power BI, Definitive Healthcare).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
