Position Summary:
MaxCyte is hiring a Business Development Manager for the Southwest U.S. region to drive sales growth, expand market share, and build strategic relationships. The role focuses on both managing existing accounts and generating new business, particularly in biotech, pharma, and research markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth: Create and execute business plans to increase revenue.
- Account Management: Lead strategic account planning, analyze market trends, and maintain global account collaboration.
- Sales Execution: Achieve/exceed sales targets; manage pipeline and forecasting.
- Lead Generation: Identify and convert high-value prospects.
- Relationship Building: Engage with stakeholders from bench-level scientists to C-suite executives.
- Technical Sales: Position MaxCyte's technology as a solution to customer needs.
- Market Intelligence: Research accounts and competitors to inform strategy.
- Product Demos: Lead impactful product presentations with technical teams.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with marketing, applications, and product teams.
- Compliance: Adhere to company standards and mentor junior sales staff.
Requirements:
- Education: BS in Life Sciences or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of direct sales in life science tools, especially capital equipment sales ($100K+).
- Sales Skills: Strong ability to sell across all organizational levels.
- Technical Expertise: Familiar with cell & gene therapy, cell biology, immunology, transfection, and screening technologies.
- Industry Network: Established contacts in pharma/biotech sectors.
- Travel: ~50% travel expected (domestic and international).
