Position Overview:
The Institutional Business Manager (IBM) will be responsible for selling APONVIE (an anti-nausea drug) in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers across the Southeast region—ideally based in Charlotte or Atlanta. This role focuses on building hospital relationships, driving product adoption, and expanding market share within the acute care space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive sales and market growth in assigned territory.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with hospital staff (surgeons, anesthesiologists, pharmacists, etc.).
- Develop and execute account-specific business plans.
- Facilitate product adoption into hospital systems (e.g., EMRs, standing orders).
- Conduct educational presentations and in-services on product use.
- Stay current on Heron’s products, disease areas, and competitors.
- Travel extensively—up to 75%, with 80% field time.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years in hospital pharmaceutical/device sales.
- 2–3 years experience in the Southeast region.
- Strong background in orthopedic/general surgery or pain management preferred.
- Proven experience with formulary access, protocol integration, and EMR/CPOE systems.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills.
- Willing to travel frequently and work evenings/weekends as needed.
